Lower Deficits Are Key to Affordability: MacGuineas. Maya MacGuineas, president of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, says bringing down deficits is the "single most important thing" policymakers can do to improve affordability in a lasting way, arguing that heavy federal borrowing is putting upward pressure on inflation and interest rates. She also says there is a "huge mismatch" between politicians' warnings about the fiscal outlook and their willingness to embrace the higher taxes and spending cuts she says are needed to address it. She speaks with Kailey Leinz and Joe Mathieu on the late edition of Bloomberg's "Balance of Power." (Source: Bloomberg)
